Preparing for a Walk

It is the responsibility of all walkers to ensure that they are physically fit enough to take part in the walks selected.

Please take careful note of both the mileage and terrain description of the walks and pick those that best suit you.

Always carry protection against both sun and wet weather. Sun screen & insect repellent recommended.

Prepare in relation to the length of your walk.

Parents/guardians are solely responsible for choosing walks to suit the ability of their children.

Please inform the Walk Leader of any relevant health issues.

Dogs are not allowed on any of our countryside walks for the 2024 festival. Fully trained assistance dogs may be taken on the 4 stroller walks in the festival. Please read our assistance dogs policy.

Footwear & Clothing

Please wear suitable walking shoes or boots.

Prepare in relation to the length of your walk.

Bring waterproofs and warm clothing as required.

The Walk Leaders may exercise their right to refuse to accept walkers into the group who are not sufficiently well equipped for their own safety.

Food & Drink

Do bring drinks and snacks as required; walkers should not rely on any refreshment purchases during the walk. Minimum 500ml of water recomended.

Full-day walks will indicate arrangements for lunch.

At the end of a walk, you might have the option of a pub/café visit with your group.
