The first section of this walk takes you from the Forestry Commission car park, just north of Welsh St. Donats to the Vale Resort and Golf Course. En-route you pass Llwyn Ddu, a lake (Llyn Yoy), a heronry and walk the edge of the golf course. The second section takes you on past racing stables into Tre-Dodridge and on to Ty-Fry farm. The final section leads on to an attractive area of forestry and fishing lakes.

 

Hospitality – No refreshments available en-route.

 

Distance/terrain:  7.5 miles. Fairly gentle terrain with just 2 or 3 modest climbs and just over 2 stiles per mile.

Those who have never visited this part of Wales, situated on the coast between the Gower and Cardiff, will enjoy walking through fertile, rolling lowland countryside adjoining the spectacular Heritage Coast with towering cliffs and remote beaches.  The Vale as its known locally is a maze of footpaths, country lanes, little villages, fine dining and country inns.
