The 'taster' session will be held at the location and will be an opportunity to try out some of the techniques in this fast growing and enjoyable form of exercise. These techniques can be used on any walk and provide an enjoyable and supportive way of enhancing the walking experience. It suits both those who find walking a distance difficult, but it is equally of great benefit to those who already enjoy walking as a recreation. All the benefits will be fully explained during the session so why not come along and give it a try - you may be surprise yourself with how comfortable and enjoyable it is.

 

Hospitality - cafe, most likely will be open this time of year on a Sunday.

 

Distance/terrain: The 'taster' will be on level grassy area. The walk - a maximum of 2 miles around the park also on level grass or trail.

Timing: Start 2:00pm   Return 4:00pm approx.

Meet at: In main car park at end of the road through the Park.

Bring: Something to drink and a snack is suggested. Suitable footwear and clothing are essential. Poles will be supplied for the session.
Restrictions: No dogs. Suitable for adults only.

Travel Directions: Park is located in Barry to the west of the town - sign posted on various approach roads. On both 'Town' and O.S. maps.

Those who have never visited this part of Wales, situated on the coast between the Gower and Cardiff, will enjoy walking through fertile, rolling lowland countryside adjoining the spectacular Heritage Coast with towering cliffs and remote beaches.  The Vale as its known locally is a maze of footpaths, country lanes, little villages, fine dining and country inns.
